Testimonials - This is what you say ...
Alex is an expert in his field. He grasped my brief thoroughly, understood my requirements exactly and delivered what was needed. The day was fun and relaxed consequently the information passed on has been embedded. I have no hesitation in recommending Alex and will use him again.

I was able to focus on exactly the right things based on my experience and draw on Alex's knowledge and real life experience of making photographs in all sorts of circumstances. I came away with confidence. Alex was great at coaching me through what was working and not quite right. All this underpinned with handouts that Alex had produced based on what I wanted to learn meant I got great value for money. Thank you for a very rewarding day.

Thank you once again for a fantastic day and an insight into what I can achieve with my camera.

Concerning feedback from our day together I came away feeling the following. You were a genial and informative tutor. Your critique of the images I brought was constuctive and encouraging, (I was apprehensive about showing them). Your day was well planned and the locations good. I felt very relaxed and the way you explained about taking meter readings, using centre metering mode etc. I got first time. All in all I felt by the end of our day really motivated, that I had improved my knowledge (polarisers and ND grads) and I had got my moneys worth. Just a pity about my camera! I got four of the images you gave printed up this morning and mounted for the Club annual competion, two colour and the two B&W. The guy at the printers had a Canon 400D with him and I told him about mine. His is exactly the same except he has been quoted £150 to repair! Will see how the pennies go in the near future but I assure you I will be back.

I’d just like to express my thanks for the one-to-one tuition session that we had last Friday. My under exposed pictures that I took a couple of weeks ago aren’t a patch on the portfolio of 10 pictures that I got from the day’s tuition; the only problem being that I can’t figure out which of the seascapes is my favourite: the old pier or the waves with the landmass behind.
Although the day was tailored to suit my requirements, I thought that the overall structure was great. Talking through my previous efforts clarified numerous things in my mind and I learnt a lot in that first hour before I’d picked up my camera! Getting some of the technical elements of photography and camera operation reinforced with a cup of coffee was a good start to the day before heading out to the various locations.
Without going into the merits of all the places we visited, there was a common theme which was great. Rather than teaching me to take “photos by numbers” at locations you are familiar with, you encouraged me to make my own creative decisions regarding what to shoot and offered advice throughout. I thought this was far more valuable than being told to take pictures of specific scenes. If you had done this, I would have walked away knowing how to take great pictures of those scenes; but baffled by anything else!
In short, you taught me to the skillset that I need to be able to continue shooting landscape photography without you at my side and the offer of “post-course critique” is also highly valuable as I continue to improve!
So thanks once again, I had a great day in a relaxed and fun atmosphere and learnt more than I ever expected. As we discussed, if you wish to use any of my pictures and/or this text, you are more than welcome. An email to say that one of my shots has made it onto your website would be nice though (gives me bragging rights at work!). All the best, Darren
